SOMERSET HOUSE

Last Thursday 23rd June, the second leg of the Gavi World Tour was held in London.

The Great White Wine of Piedmont splendidly shone among the halls of the prestigious location of Somerset House. The walk-around tasting of more than 60 labels and two masterclasses allowed the specialized press and industry operators to explore the rich personality of this inclusive and sophisticated white wine.

The two masterclasses – Gavi DOCG: Exploring the Latest Vintages and The Hidden Depths of Gavi DOCG, the Ageing Potential of Piedmont’s Great White –focusing on the unique Cortese grape and its aging potential have both been conducted by Walter Speller from Jancisrobinson.com.

This second leg in London has allowed the Consorzio to show both opinion leaders and industry operators an extraordinary and full overview of one Piedmont’s most intriguing denominations for which the UK represents the main market.
